About Us
Poorchild Films was established in 2004 under the supervision of M. Legend Brown and Eric A. King, after training under Tracy Kirvin C.E.O of Milkshake Films in 2002. M. Legend and Eric decided to form their own Film Company. In hopes of telling heart-wrenching stories that not only entertain, but educate.
Over the past six years Poorchild Films has seven films to its credit. Five short films and One feature length Film. Poorchild Films in 2009 add another team member to their core operation William Brown.
Poorchild Films continues to push to find new ways along with using existing and new technology to tell all kind of stories through the art of motion pictures to entertain the public.
M. Legend Brown: C. E. O/Writer/Producer/Director
M. Legend has been telling stories since his early childhood. "I remember forcing my sister and cousins to read my stories” He says chuckling. "We would cover the lawn with chairs, buckets, crates for all the neighborhood kids to sit on while I told them stories about a fictional character named Junior" He says.M. Legend has taken that skill he’s learned as a child into the motion picture world thanks to Tracy Kirvin who form a film company called "Milkshake Films”
Tracy took M. Legend underneath his wings for two years teaching him everything he knew about the industry. They produced a film together in 2002 titled "Against the Grain” a comedy about choice we make.
M. Legend was captivated by the process and with the help of Eric A. King formed his own company Poorchild Films. M. Legend Brown has written, produced, and directed six films over the past seven years.
Eric King: President /Producer
Eric King has been a huge fan of movies. "I wasn’t interested in making movies, but I believe in Legend" King laughs. "After doing our first film I begin to love the process." King says. Eric has produced 6 films with Poorchild Films. He has five short films and one feature length film to his credit. Eric is also a member of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA), Indie Club of Dallas.
